If you have curly hair, then this product is for you! Walking in the footsteps of Lorraine Massey’s and Michele Bender’s curly girl method, I was on the hunt looking for the best leave-in conditioners to keep the frizz at bay and define my curls without having to deal with gels and all the chemicals in them. Since I have tried a lot of Andalou Naturals’ products and they were evidently the best brand I have ever used, their leave in conditioners topped my list.
I believe that a big part of self-care is choosing the right ingredients that get absorbed into our skin and hair. This definitely checked the box when analyzing the ingredients list of Andalou’s Argan Oil Plus leave-in conditioner. It is made without sulfates, GMOs, petrochemicals, phthalates, parabens, synthetic fragrance, colors or preservatives! In fact, this product is Non-GMO Project verified, Verified Gluten Free, Vegan, and Cruelty-Free.
The product is formulated with fruit stem cell science that improves follicle longevity and vitality of the hair. According to the description on the packaging, “the omega-rich Argan oil and fruit stem cells deeply penetrate each strand, repairing and restoring moisture, elasticity, and flexible strength, while minimizing split ends, static and frizz. Hair looks and feels healthy with amazing luster and shine.”

How I use the product:
After washing my hair with Andalou’s Argan Oil & Shea Moisture Rich Shampoo and conditioner, I towel dry my hair and detangle it using a wet comb. I, then, section my hair and apply a generous amount of the leave-in conditioner, comb it through and scrunch the sections using a cotton shirt. I leave my curls to air-dry naturally and they are amazingly defined and shiny.
To go to be, I tie my hair in a pineapple using a hair slinky and I only wash my hair once a week. Between washes, I might need to wet strands of hair that get frizzy and re-apply the leave in conditioner.
I never comb my hair when it is curly and dry. On a hair wash day, I wet my hair then comb it using a tangle teaser or a wet brush then proceed with the shampoo and conditioner. By the way, the conditioner comes off very easily upon washing with water. It is nothing like the drug store gels which make your hair crunchy and dry! In fact, my hair is usually very soft when I wash the product out. It is very gentle on the hair and color safe for those who like to bleach or dye their hair.
If I plan to straighten my hair, I prefer not to use the leave-in conditioner because it makes my hair look greasy and firmer than I’d like it to be.
Would I repurchase or recommend this product?
100%. This is not by any means a sponsored review, but truth be told, I have used Andalou products forever and they always leave my hair happier! I actually restock whenever I feel the leave-in conditioner is running out. Just be aware that you will need a lot of product if you have a lot of hair or hair that easily gets frizzy.
The leave in conditioner retails for AED 57.75 in the United Arab Emirates at all Life Pharmacy branches.
